Destination Cape Breton is the official Destination Marketing and Management Organization for Cape Breton Island.

Mandate

An incorporated non-profit society, DCB’s mandate is to grow Cape Breton’s tourism industry through effective destination marketing and strategic destination development.

Destination Cape Breton’s vision is to become a robust year-round tourist destination offering unparalleled visitor experiences that leave an indelible positive impression on those who visit.

Governance

Destination Cape Breton is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is comprised of 15 members, including:

  • One representative from each of the Island’s five municipalities
  • One representative of each of the Island’s three main cultures (Mi’kmaq, Acadian and Gaelic)
  • Six members at large that represent industry and key stakeholders
  • One non-voting observer representing the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

Board meetings are held bi-monthly and meeting locations rotate among the municipalities on the Island.
