Destination Cape Breton is the official Destination Marketing and Management Organization for Cape Breton Island.
Mandate
An incorporated non-profit society, DCB’s mandate is to grow Cape Breton’s tourism industry through destination marketing and tourism product innovation.
Governance
Destination Cape Breton is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is comprised of 15 members, including:
- One representative from each of the Island’s five municipalities
- One representative of each of the Island’s three main cultures (Mi’kmaq, Acadian, and Gaelic)
- Five members at large that represent industry and key stakeholders
- Two non-voting observers representing the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and Develop Nova Scotia
Board meetings are held bi-monthly and meeting locations rotate among the municipalities on the Island.
