Cape Breton Island-Unama’ki Hosts the 2024 Toyota Canada Soccer U-17 National Championships October 9-14
CAPE BRETON ISLAND-UNAMA’KI, NS – Cape Breton Island-Unama’ki, renowned for its stunning landscapes, rich culture and unmatched hospitality, is set to host of the 2024 Toyota Canada Soccer U-17 National Championships. Scheduled for October 9-14, 2024 in Sydney and surrounding areas, the event will bring together the nation’s top youth soccer teams for an exciting and competitive tournament that promises to showcase the best of Canadian soccer talent.
The Toyota Canada Soccer U-17 National Championships is one of the most prestigious events in Canadian youth soccer. The U-17 Cup will see teams from across the country competing at world-class facilities located at Cape Breton University’s Ness Timmons Soccer Field, Open Hearth Park Steel Turf Field, and MacKinnon Field.
Cape Breton’s history of hosting national and international events, including the 2024 BKT World Women’s Curling Championship, the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, and various U Sports and Atlantic University Sport Championships, has demonstrated the community’s ability to deliver high-calibre events successfully. With support from the Government of Canada, Province of Nova Scotia, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Soccer Cape Breton, Soccer Nova Scotia, Destination Cape Breton and Cape Breton University, the Local Organizing Committee is looking forward to welcoming players, officials and fans from across the country.
